Certification Board

The Irrigation Association Certification Board is an independent board that governs the IA certification program. The Certification Board has autonomy in making decisions regarding important aspects of the certification program, including eligibility standards; the development, administration and scoring of the assessments; certification disciplinary issues; selection of Certification Board members; and operational processes such as application review, registration processing and candidate communication. Board members work closely with volunteers, industry subject-matter experts and IA staff to promote irrigation expertise through certification by

  • increasing awareness of the Select Certified program.
  • ensuring the relevance of current and future certifications.
  • maximizing resources to support strategic initiatives.
  • seeking alliances to strengthen IA’s certification program.

Certification Board members must be IA members and hold an IA certification in good standing to be nominated. The Certification Board approves new members during its summer leadership meetings. Members represent a mix of industry professions and market segments. To apply, submit a completed nomination packet by June 1.
