As part of our mission to promote efficient irrigation, the Irrigation Association partners with experts and stakeholders from industry, academia and the public sector to

• define best practices for effective water management.
• establish benchmarks and guidelines for irrigation products and applications.
• advocate water policies based on sound science.

The IA’s activities in this area include

• promoting landscape irrigation best management practices.
• developing testing protocols for irrigation products through the Smart Water Application Technologies initiative.
• providing input on new and existing green building codes.
• participating in national and international standards development through the American National Standards Institute, American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, and International Organization for Standardization.
